Kniss will talk
to Saratogans
Interested in discussing issues stirring throughout the Silicon Valley? The public is invited to attend a community conversation with County Supervisor Liz Kniss on Oct. 23 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Saratoga Senior Center. Topics that will be covered include business relations between the city and the county, transportation, housing, property taxes, finances, and broader concerns about the state and local government The event is co-sponsored by the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce and the city of Saratoga. Meeting covers
city's future
The Saratoga City Council is encouraging residents to attend another special meeting on Oct. 28 to discuss the future of those city-owned properties that were not talked about at the last special meeting in September. Sites on the agenda include Foothill, Ravenwood and Wildwood parks as well as the Heritage Orchard, Hakone Gardens and Saratoga Library. Chamber seeks
board members
The Saratoga Chamber of Commerce will be holding the annual election for prospective members to serve on the board of directors. Terms will run from Jan. 1, 2004, to Dec. 31, 2005. Nominees can either be self-nominated or be nominated by other individuals. Nominees must be current Chamber members in good standing and need not be residents of Saratoga. Member duties include attending business mixers and monthly board meetings. Board members must also serve on at least two committees.
