Softball sign-ups

The Los Gatos­Saratoga Girls Softball Association will hold sign-ups for the 2004 season on Nov. 5 and 12, 7­9 p.m. each night, in the cafeteria at Los Gatos High School.

The recreational softball league is open to girls ages 7­14 (as of Dec. 31, 2003), and all new and returning players are required to register. Players must provide a birth certificate for age verification and the registration fee is $160 per player ($100 for each additional family member). Parents are also required to sign-up for a volunteer commitment.

LL registration

The Saratoga Little League is now holding sign-ups for the 2004 baseball season. Players ages 5­12 (T-ball through major division) are eligible.

Parents are encouraged to register their children online at www.saratogall.org. Volunteer job applications for parents are also available on the league's website. Online registration, as well as payment, is available through Nov. 9.

Sign-ups and verification will be held Nov. 12 and 13, 7­9 p.m., and Nov. 15, 9­11 a.m., in the cafeteria at Argonaut School. Parents must provide proof of residency, a valid driver's license, the birth certificate of any child registering, and the printed registration form.

Turkey trot

The Los Gatos­Saratoga Observation Nursery School, located at 19601 Black Road in Los Gatos (also known as the "Mountain School"), will hold its first annual 5K Turkey Trot walk/run on Nov. 9 at Vasona Park in Los Gatos.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. The fun, family 5K starts at 11 a.m., and the kids fun run will begin at noon.

Bronco baseball

The Santa Clara University baseball program will host the Santa Clara Prospect Baseball Camp on Nov. 28­30. The camp is open to youngsters in grades 10­12. For more information, call Santa Clara assistant coach Mike Zirelli at 408.554.4151.
