City will consider
extension of ban
Residents are encouraged to attend a public hearing on Nov. 19 regarding the possible adoption of an ordinance that will extend an interim prohibition of new personal service businesses in areas bounded by the Saratoga Creek, Rocky Creek Way, St. Charles and Oak streets, and Saratoga-Sunnyvale and SaratogaLos Gatos roads. The interim prohibition was adopted on Oct. 15 during a city council meeting and is set to expire on Nov. 29. City council meets at 7 p.m.
City provides bags
in rainy months
Don't get stuck in a puddle—it's time to prepare for the rainy season. Sandbags will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the corporation yard on Allendale Avenue from November through April 1. Residents are limited to 100 bags. Elderly and handicapped individuals can receive up to 25 filled sandbags during working hours from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, visit the city's website at http://www.saratoga.ca.us.

Missed one or all of the lectures on the world's five major religions during the week of Building Bridges? If so, you can watch them when KSAR airs the lectures on channel 15. On Nov. 15, the lectures on Christianity (10 a.m.), Hinduism (4 p.m.) and Islam (7:30 p.m.) will be telecast. Village welcomes holidays on Nov.28
It's time to lighten up! Saratoga will be holding its annual Holiday Open House in the Village on Nov. 28 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Watch the Village brighten up during the tree-lighting ceremony as the city introduces its first real tree. Sing along with carolers, enjoy a carriage ride, indulge in cookies and hot cider or shop—there will be a variety of things to do.
