Cheer team is first
|
|
|
Three eighth-grade students who attend Redwood Middle School in Saratoga are also participants in the 20-member 'Cheer Divas,' an all-star cheerleading team. The team took first place on Nov. 2 in the Northern division, USA Regional Spirit Competition at California State University, Hayward. The team's members, coached by Holly Rodriquez, practices for competitions for twice a week for three hours, as well as on weekends, to fine-tune their tumbling, gymnastics, dance and cheer skills. The three local students include Meg Mastman, Danielle Grassi and Kalin Granado, all age 13.
