Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley looks to Africa for inspiration for its annual fundraising gala set for Feb. 21 at the Fairmont Hotel Regency Ballroom. Not coincidentally, the company is also presenting the world premier of "Out of Africa," choreographed by Flemming Flindt and in production March 2528.
The fundraiser, which last year raised $130,000, features cocktail reception, dinner, silent and live auctions and dancing. Tickets are priced at $250; sponsor tables are available for $3,500, with donor tables at $2,500.
Black tie or safari attire is welcome. Chairwomen of the event are Joan Hackworth and Marie LoPresto of Saratoga, Joanne Meninger of San Jose and Barbara Oates of Sunnyvale.
