Petty Theft—Jan. 11, 10 a.m. on Big Basin Way and Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. A female victim reported that the right rear tire and rim were stolen from her vehicle, which was parked in a lot behind an apartment complex. According to the report, a possible suspect was spotted earlier the same day the report was taken.
Drunk In Public—Jan. 10, 11:24 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. An officer saw a male suspect walking in the middle of the street. The suspect displayed signs of being under the influence, such as red eyes, slurred speech, a staggered gait and an alcoholic odor on his breath. The suspect did not know what city he was in, but told the officer that he came from a party in Gilroy. The suspect was taken to Main Jail.
Found Property—Jan. 10, 10 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. An officer found a pink handbag containing several pill containers in the parking lot next to the sheriff's substation.
Burglary—Jan. 10, 9:15 a.m. An unknown suspect stole small items from a property on the corner of Sobey Road and Sperry Lane. There were no signs of a forced entry.
Burglary—Jan. 8, 5:31 p.m. on Craigen Circle and Chateau Drive. An unknown suspect entered a home by breaking the lock of the front door. Nothing was reported missing. Officers were able to obtain prints.
Petty Theft—Jan. 8, 4:30 p.m. on Paseo Flores. An unknown suspect stole the rear license plate of a truck that was parked at the victim's residence. There are no suspects.
Fraud—Jan. 8, 3:30 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. A victim reported that her library card was stolen. She said she did not notice it until December 2003 and by then, the suspect had already accumulated $275 in fines. The victim said she did not know about the fines because the billings were sent to a friend's address.
Grand Theft—Jan. 7, 3:30 p.m. on Big Basin Way and Fourth Street. An unknown suspect stole a jacket that was hanging on a post in the parking lot next to a business. The jacket contained a cell phone, a Palm Pilot and a wallet with cash inside. There are no suspects.
Found Property—Jan. 7, 9 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. A reporting party turned in a Panasonic cordless phone receiver to the sheriff's substation. The receiver was found on the road near Mendelsohn Lane.
