Residential Burglary—Jan. 16, 8:05 p.m. An unknown person broke into a residence on Prospect Road and stole $150 in cash and a checkbook. No other items were reported missing. The person is at large.

Identity Theft—Jan. 16, 11 a.m. on Lanark Lane. An unknown person opened a credit card account using a man's name. The victim said he called the bank to deny the account when he first noticed it in November 2001. However, he received a letter from the collection agency asking for payment of $1,473.72.

False Imprisonment—Jan. 16, 8:10 a.m. on Brookwood Drive. A woman said she was handcuffed by her friends, forced into a car and driven from Newark to her parents' home. The victim said she refused to go and tried to escape from the car several times but was pushed back in. According to the report, the friends told different versions of the story.

Residential Burglary—Jan.15, 8 p.m. An unknown person entered the bedroom of a residence on Horseshoe Lane and stole several pieces of jewelry. The victim said she, her husband and two dogs were home at the time of the burglary.

False Identity—Jan.13, 4:47 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance on Quito Road. The reporting party said that two males refused to leave his property. An officer confronted one of the men, who gave a false name according to the second officer who recognized the suspect from a previous arrest.
