Casino Night will aid Langstaffs

Pacific Crest Explorers will sponsor a night of karaoke and casino games in honor of Kaitlyn Langstaff, who died in December. The event will be held on March 5 at the Elks Lodge,105 Newell Ave. in Los Gatos. To reserve a spot, send a check for $50 to Pacific Crest Explorers at 18300 Swarthmore Drive, Saratoga, 95070. Project proposal meeting scheduled

A special neighborhood meeting is scheduled for Feb. 20 regarding a proposed project at 14651 Big Basin Way. The applicant will be presenting the proposal for approximately 3,400 square feet of office space and approximately 2,500 square feet of residential space. League Forum is canceled

The League of Women Voters candidate forum for the 21st Assembly District scheduled for Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in Los Gatos has been canceled.

Filmmaker visits Foothill Club

Bill Guttentag, two-time winner of the Oscar for documentary filmmaking and a Stanford Graduate School of Business instructor, will present his 2002 film Twin Towers on Feb. 24. The film profiles two brothers, one a New York City firefighter and the other a police officer, and describes their NYPD Emergency Services Division's response to the 9-11 terrorist attacks. The showing and lecture will be held at the Saratoga Foothill Club at 20399 Park Place from 10 a.m. to noon. An $8 donation will be collected at the door.
