Florence Reitano
Florence Reitano, 95, died at the Mary Immaculate Restorative Nursing Center in Lawrence, Mass., on Jan. 26 from pneumonia.
Born in Lawrence, Reitano moved to California in 1970 to live with her daughter, Lydia Norcia, in Saratoga and later Los Gatos. Reitano became active with the senior centers in both communities before developing Alzheimer's.
Reitano is survived by her daughter, Lydia, her son-in-law, Domenic Norcia, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence.

Harold Fredrick Schroeder
Harold Fredrick Schroeder, 87, a Saratoga resident for 25 years, died in his home on Feb. 7. Schroeder was born on June 29, 1916, in a town outside of Chicago, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army Counter Intelligence Corps in Germany during WWII after graduating from the University of Illinois. Following the war, Schroeder moved to La Jolla, Calif., where he met and married his wife, who died in 1998. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Farris, a grandson, two great-grandsons and two nephews. Services and internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Schroeder to Pathways Hospice at 201 San Antonio Circle, Suite 135, Mountain View, CA 94040.
Teresa de Jesus Webber
Teresa de Jesus Webber died Jan. 20 in Santa Clara. She was 77.
A native of Jalisco, Mexico, Webber lived in California for most of her life and was a professional artist. She served as president of the Fine Arts League in Cupertino and was a member of the Amador County Artists Association. Webber had resided at the Saratoga Retirement Community Center since suffering a massive stroke earlier in the year.
She is survived by her brother Reinaldo Navarro, sons Jim, Steve, Howard, and Pat Webber, daughters Cathy Rodriguez and Margaret Pedersen, and nine grandchildren.
Colonel Clarence Elder
Colonel Clarence Lewis Elder died Jan. 3. He was 88.
Born on Nov. 2, 1915, in Tacoma, Wash., he was raised in McMinnville, Ore. He attended Linfield College and graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1941. He served with the Air Force from 1942 to 1965, serving throughout the country and abroad. During his term of service, he received a master's degree in engineering from the University of Michigan, married twice and started a family of six.
From 1965 until 1980 he worked for Lockheed Martin while living in Saratoga. He became active in the SIRS and the Sequoia Woods Country Club men's group. He and his wife, Ann, moved to Sun City near Roseville in 1997 and then to Loomis, Calif., in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Ann, sister Laura Thompson of Long Beach, Wash., son Mike Elder and daughter Tina Margason of San Jose, and sons Tom Elder of Aspen, Colo., Randy Elder of Loomis, and Rich Elder of Livermore.
Services have been held. Donations in his memory may be sent to the Association of Graduates at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., 10996.
