Mock-trial team is looking for support

Essay contest offers student incentives

The Humane Education Network of Menlo Park is holding its 14th annual "A Voice for Animals" high school essay contest. The contest encourages students to use their writing skills to address the plight of animals in the U.S. Students are to present the mistreatment of one animal or species, or one issue that causes suffering that they would like ended. Saratoga resident makes dean's list

Kristen Molzon of Saratoga was recently named to the dean's list at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. Molzon earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition. She is the daughter of James and Doreen Molzon of Saratoga.

Visitation day at Saratoga School

Saratoga Elementary School, 14592 Oak St., is hosting its annual, free visitation day for grades K­5 on Feb. 26 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. This is an opportunity for prospective parents to observe classes in action, while parents of current students can observe the classes at the next grade level for their children.

The event is being sponsored by the Saratoga Education Foundation and the School Site Council. Representatives from SEF, SSC and the school's Parent-Teacher Association will all be on hand to answer questions. Information about the school's yearly events and after-school programs will also be available. There will be a kindergarten-only visitation for parents March 25.
