Carl Saunders, a top trumpeter who has performed alongside jazz legends Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra, will play tunes from his latest CD, Bebop Big Band, at West Valley College on Feb. 27. The show begins at 8 p.m. General admission is $20 and $15 for students and senior citizens. Family-history workshop

Los Gatos­Saratoga Community Education and Recreation will hold a three-hour memory-recall workshop on March 7 for those interested in learning how to put together a family-history video. Students will get tips on interviewing techniques and learn the basics of audio and visual recording. The class starts at 1:30 p.m. at the recreation center at 123 E. Main St. in Los Gatos. Cheetahs topic of discussion

The Northern California chapter of the Cheetah Conservation Fund, part of the Wildlife Conservation Network, will hold a fundraising event at Hakone Gardens on Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. to help raise awareness about cheetah endangerment. Local vintner offers tours

Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards is offering free guided tours through its 28-acre vineyard on the first Saturday of each month. In addition to sampling wines, participants will learn about various aspects of the winemaking process, from harvesting grapes to pruning and bottling. Tours start at 11 a.m. and last approximately one hour, depending on the number of questions asked. The next event is scheduled for March 6.
