Sheriff's Report
Petty Theft, Mail—Feb. 22 between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on Palomino Way. Several pieces of mail were stolen from a residence. There were no witnesses or evidence at the scene.

Residential Burglary—Feb. 20 between 8 a.m. and 8:45 p.m. on Shadybrook Court. Someone entered a residence through a window, stole a computer and several pieces of stereo equipment, and exited through the rear door.

Grand Theft—Feb. 19 between 1:40 and 1:50 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. A purse containing approximately $500 in cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at Sacred Heart School.

Vehicle Burglary—Feb. 19 between 1:50 and 2:40 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. Someone smashed the driver's side window of a vehicle parked at Sacred Heart School and took a purse either from the passenger seat or floor in front of the seat. The purse was valued at $250 and contained a cell phone valued at $80.

Residential/Commercial Burglary—Between Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. and Feb. 19 at 8 a.m. on Saraview Drive. Approximately $4,000 worth of power tools were stolen from a construction site. The tools were chained together in one room of a house frame on the site. The site is mostly fenced, and a lock was cut and found with the chain at the main entrance.

Violation of Court Order—Feb. 18 at 9 p.m. on Marilla Drive. The mother of twin 11-year-old daughters had not returned the girls to their father, who has full custody, by the court-ordered time of 7 p.m. The father said he was confident she would return them, but filed a report in case they weren't returned. The mother could not be contacted at the time the report was filed.

Assault and Battery—Feb. 11 between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Highway 85 at Saratoga Avenue. A man was traveling in a van with another person, who struck him on his right hand, shouted and cursed for 15 seconds in a "fit," then struck the man again on his right shoulder. The man sustained no injuries, but pressed charges against the other party.
