Found Property for Destruction—Feb. 24 at 9:10 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. A resident turned found property, including a rifle and some spears, into the West Valley station. An officer submitted the spears and rifle for destruction.
Theft—Between Jan. 15 and Feb. 1 on 4th Street. A woman reported that three credit cards were stolen from her apartment. She said she is not sure where the cards were when they were stolen, but that they were probably in her bathroom drawer. The credit cards were used at convenience stores in San Jose and Campbell.
Vehicle Burglary—Feb. 25 between 7 and 8:30 a.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. A Los Banos man reported that the back passenger window of his vehicle had been broken into and his gym bag stolen while the car was parked. The bag contained a wallet with ATM cards and approximately $40 in cash.
Drug Possession—Feb. 25 at 5:45 p.m. at McFarland and Devon avenues. An officer conducted an enforcement stop for expired registration tags. He noticed a marijuana odor when the driver rolled down the window and located a sandwich baggie containing 30.6 grams of marijuana on the floorboard in front of the vehicle's passenger. The passenger, a Santa Cruz man, said the marijuana was his and was cited by the officer.
Criminal Threats—Feb. 26 at 9:30 a.m. on Prospect Road. A confrontation occurred between a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old. Both boys pushed each other, and when they were separated, the 15-year-old said he would "shank" the other boy and warned him to watch out. The 14-year-old saw a large group of people with the older boy at the door of a gym on the premises and reported the activity. The 15-year-old is on juvenile probation.
Identity Theft—Between Jan. 15 and Jan. 31 on Beaumont Avenue. Someone stole a woman's library card and checked out books before she knew it was missing. The alleged thief accumulated a balance of almost $450 on the woman's account.
Vehicle Burglary (Multiple)—Feb. 26 between 1:50 and 4:10 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. Four separate people reported that their purses were stolen from vehicles in or near church and school facilities. In three of the incidents, the passenger windows were broken. The other vehicle was unlocked. All four purses were left on seats or floorboards. Items in the purses included credit cards, cash, checkbooks, cellular phones, a $70 pair of sunglasses and a U.S. passport. There are no suspects.
