Ilnicka is named to
Cal Poly dean's list

Joanna Ilnicka, the daughter of Mariola Ilnicka, earned straight A's during the fall quarter 2003 and was named to the dean's list at Cal Poly­San Luis Obispo.

Ilnicka, a 1999 graduate of Saratoga High School, is majoring in architecture and minoring in construction management in the college of architecture.

Chu is spending a
semester in China

Jennifer Chu of Saratoga, a junior at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, is spending the spring semester of the 2003­04 academic year in China.

She is enrolled in a course of studies at the Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing, through the Associated Colleges in China Program.

Chu, a graduate of Saratoga High School, is the daughter of Wen-Cheng and Harriet Chu of Saratoga.

She is majoring in government and international studies at Colby.

Riordan picked for doctoral program

Matt Riordan, a 1997 graduate of Saratoga High School, has been accepted into the biomedical engineering doctoral program at Washington University in St. Louis.

Riordan received a bachelor's degree from UC-San Diego in bioengineering, with a minor in cognitive science in 2002.

He made the dean's list most quarters.

Riordan was also employed as a research and development engineer at Cryocor, a medical device start-up company in San Diego, prior to beginning his graduate studies.

Seventh-grader has
poem published

Kelly Lamble, a seventh-grader at Redwood Middle School in Saratoga, had her third poem published.

Her poem, "A Soul's Scar," was released by The International Library of Poetry in the book The Colors of Life.

Her poem appears on the first page of the book and is about the meaning and truth in life.

She is the daughter of Geri and Mike Lamble of Saratoga.

Along with writing poetry, Kelly Lamble is also an accomplished age group tennis player.
