Sheriff's Report
Drunk in Public—March 11 at 3:11 a.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. An officer noticed a man was asleep in his parked vehicle with a female passenger. The officer contacted the man to assess his welfare. The man said he did not know where he was or the name of the street he was on. He told the officer he had to get to Campbell, but did not know how to get there. He had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages about his person and said he had had several drinks earlier in the evening. The officer arrested the man and booked him into the main jail.

Vandalism—March 12 between 2 and 3 a.m. on El Camino Grande. Someone destroyed a mailbox at a residence. Witness statements and an assessment of the condition of the mailbox led officers to believe it may have been blown up with an explosive device.

Petty Theft—March 11 at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Marilyn Lane. A woman reported her purse was stolen from her unlocked car, which was parked in a school driveway. She said the purse was valued at $50 and contained her identification, credit cards and $40 in cash.

Misdemeanor Vandalism—March 12 at 12:30 a.m. on Prospect Road. Someone damaged a door to a city-owned church building being leased to the West Valley Sheriff's Office. The door was damaged at the jamb and split down the side. Damage was estimated at $300.

Vandalism—March 12 between 8:30 and 10:50 p.m. on Prospect Road. Someone punctured all four tires of a parked vehicle. Damage was estimated at $800.

Disturbing the Peace—March 13 at 11:02 a.m. on Cox Road. A man walked into a bank and began yelling and creating a disturbance. The man was asked to leave but did not do so, and then he challenged a customer to a physical fight. He was arrested and booked into jail.

Vandalism—Between March 13 at 5 p.m. and March 14 at 8:30 a.m. on Puente Court. Someone threw an orange at the front window of a residence. The orange broke the 5-foot-by-5-foot dual-paned window. The owner of the residence could not determine the estimated damage value.

Stolen Vehicle Trailer—Between March 5 at 3 p.m. and March 6 at 10 a.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. Someone took a flatbed trailer parked in a parking lot facing the road.

Drug Possession—March 9 at 7 a.m. on De Sanka Avenue. Someone called to report that a woman had not taken medication for her depression and was incoherent. Upon their arrival, sheriff's deputies noticed the woman smelled of alcoholic beverages and had dilated pupils. Deputies found 10.6 grams of marijuana in her purse and reported that she seemed unable to care for herself due to not taking her medication. She was transported to El Camino Hospital for treatment at 8:30 a.m.
