Parent forum looks at schedule change

Saratoga Union School District has a parent forum on April 19, 7:30­8:30 p.m., in the Saratoga Elementary School library, 14592 Oak St., Saratoga.

The meeting will address a K­5 proposed schedule change, a Wednesday minimum-day schedule and collaborative professional development.

Hillside residents learn about fire

Representatives from both the Saratoga and Santa Clara County fire departments will present information to hillside residents about protecting property from fire damage on April 20.

The free open forum is sponsored by the city of Saratoga and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Saratoga City Council chambers at 13777 Fruitvale Ave.

Chamber to hold mixer on tax day

Lite for Life hosts the next Saratoga Chamber of Commerce mixer April 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 14320 Saratoga­Sunnyvale Road, Suite 5.

Donations of $5 for Chamber members and $10 for nonmembers will be accepted at the door.

City commissions have seats to fill

There are two empty seats on the Saratoga Parks and Recreation Commission and 10 on the city's Youth Commission.

Those interested in applying need to attend one meeting of the commission on which they wish to serve.

Applications are due April 30 and may be obtained by contacting Saratoga City Clerk Cathleen Boyer at 408.868.1269.
