Identity Theft—April 9 at 1 p.m. on Dagmar Drive. Someone attempted to lease a condominium in Dallas, Texas, using the name, Social Security number and birthdate of a Saratoga woman. She said she did not authorize anyone to use her personal identification.

Attempted Burglary—April 9 at 10:45 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. A resident reported hearing a neighbor's house alarm sound and seeing two Asian males in their early 20s fleeing the scene. A back door of the residence was badly damaged around the lock.

Drug Possession—April 8 at 6:58 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue at Kerwin Ranch. An officer pulled over a vehicle that did not have a current year tag on the license plate. He located methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle and more methamphetamines on the vehicle's passenger. Both the driver and passenger were booked into the main jail.

Under the Influence—April 8 at 11:30 a.m. on Chester Avenue at Leland Court. A woman reported a suspicious person knocking on her front door and refusing to leave until she opened the door. She refused and instead called 911. An officer encountered a man outside her door who identified himself by a name and birthdate that was later determined to be false. He displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Fingerprints at the jail identified him as a parolee with convictions for burglary.

Identity Theft—Between Dec. 1, 2002, and April 7, 2004, on Pierce Road. At the end of 2002, a Saratoga man discovered someone had been using his credit card, so he canceled it and opened a new account. In March 2004, his credit card company contacted him to verify a change-of-address request. On April 6, a retailer called to verify a purchase order that was to be shipped to a Southern California address. He ordered a credit report and discovered that two credit card accounts had been falsely opened in his name.

Elder/Dependent abuse, Theft—Between Feb. 4 and April 4 on Plumas Drive. The family of a 60-year-old man with terminal cancer accused his girlfriend of abusing him while at a hospital. The family members stated she was overmedicating him and stealing money from his bank accounts. An officer informed the county Adult Protective Services department and submitted the incident report to the district attorney's office for review.

Commercial Burglary—Between April 2 at 5 p.m. and April 4 at 1 p.m. on Prospect Road. Someone smashed the rear sliding glass door of a medical office and stole $50 in cash, a computer hub, a monitor and a keyboard. The value of the stolen items was estimated at $3,450.

Auto Burglary—Between April 3 at 9 p.m. and April 4 at 4:40 a.m. on Big Basin Way. Someone entered a locked vehicle parked in a parking lot, damaged the upper console and stole a television monitor from the vehicle. The value of the TV was estimated at $400.
