Even in inclement weather, hardy shoppers turn out at Saratoga High School for the weekly farmers market. They wander among the booths, carefully inspecting luscious strawberries, picking through shelled peas that are surprisingly sweet and lining up for freshly made bread.  More

Facade program Trying to save 4-H Stamp out hunger
A new city program could provide as much as $5,000 to downtown business owners wishing to make exterior building improvements. But the program is receiving mixed reactions from merchants and service providers.  More Only 9 years old and dressed sharply in his white and green uniform, Joey knows how to attract customers. "Would you like to pet my guinea pig?" he calls out to shoppers outside GeneÍs Market in Saratoga. As the crowd gathers around his table, he immediately tells them what he really needs: to save 4-H, a youth organization.  More Helping to feed the hungry is as simple as reaching into the cupboard, pulling out some canned goods or jars of peanut butter and leaving them by the mailbox. The only catch is that it must be done on May 8 before the mail arrives.  More
