The Redwood Leos Club, a chapter of the Lions Club, is encouraging residents to take part in Kases for Kids by dropping off suitcases, duffel bags, backpacks and other carrying cases to the Book Go Round at 14410 Oak St. The items will be donated to the Emergency Housing Consortium and local foster care agencies. The drive will continue through May 31.

Artists welcome
speaker Linstrom

Guest speaker Michael Linstrom will present "Spirituality, Color and Light" at the next Saratoga Contemporary Artists meeting on May 20 at 7 p.m. in the Saratoga Library Community Room. Linstrom is an accomplished painter specializing in oil and pastel. He also teaches art to students throughout the Bay Area.

Youths host final
school dance

The Saratoga Youth Commission is wrapping up the school year with its last all-city middle school dance on May 21 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. in the Saratoga Community Center, 19655 Allendale Ave. Tickets to the Hawaiian-themed dance are $5. Staff from the Saratoga Recreation Department will supervise the event. School identification is required for admission.
