Senior center holds
computer classes

The Saratoga Senior Center is offering beginning to intermediate level computer classes for those interested in learning how to type, use email and surf the Internet. Introduction to Computers, in which students learn the basics of Microsoft Windows, will begin on June 2 and continue through June 23. There will be another class running July 7 through July 28 for those wishing to learn basic emailing techniques. Computer labs are open every Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. for students who would like additional help.

Classes, which are $25 per person and $35 for couples, are only open to Saratoga Senior Center members. For information about other computer classes and times, call the center at 408.868.1257.

Teng performs
in San Jose

Singer and songwriter Vienna Teng will perform tunes from her latest CD titled Warm Strangers at the Montgomery Theater, 291 S. Market St. in San Jose, on June 1 at 7:30 p.m. Teng, a graduate of Saratoga High School, was featured on the Late Show with David Letterman and has opened for various artists such as Joan Osborne and Shawn Colvin. Library features
works by Sustarich

Local artist Frank Sustarich will have his oil paintings on display at the Saratoga Library through June 28. Sustarich specializes in pictographs, ideographs and imagined geography. The library is located at 13650 Saratoga Ave.

Plate-making class
in Los Gatos

The Saratoga Recreation Department will host a two-night class called Collage Plates on June 8 and 15 for those interested in learning how to make decorative plates. Classes are from 6:45 to 9:45 p.m. at Blossom Hill School, 16400 Blossom Hill Road in Los Gatos. Registration is $61. An additional $25 must be paid to the instructor at the first class to cover the costs of materials.
