Sheriff's Report
Stolen Ring—Between May 17 at 6:45 a.m. and May 18 at 11 a.m. at Three Oaks Way. An unknown person entered an open garage at a residence and took away a 24-carat gold ring studded with diamonds and emeralds. The estimated value of the ring is $7,000, and the burglar remains at large.

Credit Card Fraud—Between May 5 at 1 p.m. and May 21at 5:30 p.m. at Wallbrook Drive. An unknown person used a 59-year-old man's date of birth and Social Security number to open a Discover card account. This person then attempted to rent camera equipment from a company in the Los Angeles area.

Alcohol—May 21 between noon and 2:40 p.m. at Prospect Road. An officer found a 14-year-old under the influence of alcohol. The student admitted to drinking alcohol on school grounds. Another student admitted to passing on a clear liquid without knowing that it was alcohol. They were cited and released to their respective mothers.

Missing—Between May 20 at 6 p.m. and May 21 at 12:30 a.m. at Chalet Lane. An officer responded to a missing-person call. A 15-year-old girl was picked up by her boyfriend and went to a restaurant in Los Gatos. Her mother went to the restaurant but was unable to locate her. The girl called later and said she would not be coming home that night. She was located by her parents at 8 a.m. the next day at Los Gatos High School.

Theft—Between May 7 at 1 p.m. and May 19 at 9 a.m. at Prospect Road. Someone entered a construction site and stole building materials that were on a pallet. The total cost of stolen materials was $7870.

Embezzlement—Date prior to April 24 at Austin Way. The owner of the business said her prior accountant had taken $2,900 from the company without permission. Detectives will follow up on the incident.

Bad Apple—May 18 around noon at De Sanka Avenue. An 11-year-old girl put an unknown substance on another student's apple. The student did not understand that the substance could be harmful. The substance was found to be nontoxic. The student will be suspended.
