The second annual Art in the Park celebration hosted by the Saratoga Arts Commission, in conjunction with the Saratoga Recreation Department, will take place on Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wildwood Park, 20764 Fourth St.

To help make the event a success, the commission is inviting residents ages 18 and over who belong to a Saratoga art gallery or organization to submit work of any medium for display and sale. There is no limit as to the number of works accepted, but each participant will be allotted a 10x10-foot booth. There is no entry fee required.

All work must be submitted by Aug. 25 to Kim Saxton-Heinrichs, the staff liaison to the arts commission, at 19655 Allendale Ave., Saratoga 95070. Entrants must also include an application and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for notification of acceptance. For more information, call 408.868.1248.

Vineyard to offer
trail rides, tasting

Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards will host a horse-trail ride and wine-tasting event on June 13 and 20 at 11 a.m. Riders can learn about the history of the property during the hour-long trek through the open-space preserve. There will also be a wine-tasting bar and a mini hors d'oeuvre buffet inside the wine room.

Library will start
children's club

Students looking for something to do in the summer can join the Saratoga Library's Summer Reading Club. The club is open to students entering grades one and up. Members will be required to read at least 10 books during the summer, one of which must have subject matter related to animals or nature.

The program will culminate in an awards ceremony on Aug. 11 at either 2:30 or 7:30 p.m. Sign-ups will begin on June 14 inside the Children's Room of the library, located at 13650 Saratoga Ave.

The library will also have a Good Listener Club for younger children who are not yet able to read.
