Sheriff's Report
Stolen Bike—Between Aug. 21 and 28 on Brookglen Drive. A bicycle kept unlocked in an open garage was stolen. The bicycle is worth $447.

Burglary—On Aug. 29 between 4:08 and 4:16 p.m. on Big Basin Way. Someone broke some glass in the door of a restaurant and then opened the door from the inside. A window that faces Big Basin Way was also broken. Deputies lifted three sets of fingerprints from the scene of the crime.

Run Around—On Aug. 30 at 6:19 p.m. near Prospect Road and Miller Avenue. A person was driving at 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. His vehicle also had a broken windshield. An attempt was made to stop him by using sirens and red lights. The chase went on for two miles. The person then got out of the car, started running and attempted to hijack another car. He was taken into custody and booked into the main jail.

Shattered Glass—Between Sept. 4 at 9 p.m. and Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. on Prospect Road. A glass piece that covered a window above the front door of a commercial establishment was removed and $660 was taken from the establishment.

False License—On Sept. 2 at 10:45 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. A person came into the sheriff's station to get his vehicle released. When his driver license was run through the records, the records showed that it belonged to another person. The person was cited and released.

Vehicle Burglary—On Aug. 26 between 12:30 and 1 p.m. on Village Drive. Someone broke into a person's car and stole a checkbook and a pair of sunglasses. Several checks were written after that, using the stolen checkbook.

Residential Burglary—On Aug. 31 at 12:40 p.m. on Guava Court. A person entered a residence through an unlocked garage door. He attempted to take a camera lying on the kitchen table. But the homeowner returned and her son detained the suspect until deputies arrived. The person was booked into the main jail.

Laptop Stolen—Between Aug. 30 at 8:30 p.m. and Aug. 31 at 8 a.m. on Saratoga Creek Drive. A laptop computer and its case were stolen from an unlocked car.
