Phone Found—On Oct. 2 between 9:45 and 11 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. A cell phone was found by a resident. He later drove to the West Valley Sheriff's Substation to hand it in. The owner of the phone could not be identified. It was booked as found property.
Forged Checks—Between Sept. 21 and 27 on Brookview Drive. Someone stole a few checks sent to a residence. The person then cashed the checks. The total loss is $361.
Marijuana Found—On Sept. 30 at 4:41 p.m. on Quito Road. A sheriff's deputy noticed a brown-colored Ford truck with a cracked windshield. The deputy found an open bottle of beer below the driver's seat. Three small bags of marijuana were also found in the person's car. He was cited and released.
Vehicle Burglary—On Sept. 30 at 8:15 p.m. on Glasgow Drive. The right side passenger window of a car was smashed and a laptop computer was stolen. The computer was worth $2,300.
Leaf Blower—On Sept. 30 at 7:20 a.m. on Big Basin Way. A leaf blower was being used by a resident outside the hours of operation specified by the city. A neighbor complained about the noise.
Ammunition Found—On Sept. 28 at 3:45 p.m. at Bestview Court. A resident called to say that he had found three boxes of rifle ammunition and one box of shotgun shells on his property. The ammunition will be destroyed.
Wild Girls—On Sept. 28 at 12:30 p.m. on Prospect Road. An argument escalated between two girls and they could be seen pushing and shoving each other. They ended up pulling each other's hair. Another girl joined in and threw one of them to the ground. All three were cited and released to their respective guardians.
Paint Pain—Between July 15 and Sept. 27 on Shadow Oaks Drive. A person hired a painter who painted parts of the house but did not finish his job. The owner later found that four of his checks had been stolen by this person and they had been cashed for $15,200.
