It started out routinely enough when the referee slapped the mat to signal a win by fall for Michael Block in the third round at 160 pounds.
But before long, the ref would get downright slaphappy as the Saratoga wrestling team would nail six pins in the first six matches contested on its way to a lopsided 55-22 win over Milpitas in the El Camino Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League.
Block started it all when he pinned 19 seconds into the third round at 160 pounds, and then the Trojans didn't know what hit them. The Falcons won the first eight bouts--six by fall--to open a commanding lead. Only a forfeit at heavyweight interrupted the string of Saratoga victories.

The team win helped the Saratoga varsity improve to 3-0 in the El Camino Division and to 9-4 in the dual match season. Saratoga opened league with a lopsided 63-12 win over Santa Clara, then crushed Homestead 66-3 before whipping Milpitas.
