Embezzlement --Feb. 28, 2:07 p.m. A Los Gatos business reported that a current employee had embezzled money and products since October 2003.
Drunk in Public --Feb. 27, 3:03 p.m. Police responded to a report of a person laying on the sidewalk on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. They arrived to find a 55-year-old man who appeared to be intoxicated and unable to care for his own safety. He was arrested and booked into jail.
Burglary --Feb. 26, 3:44 p.m. Employees of Lunardi's supermarket on Blossom Hill Road detained an alleged shoplifter. Police arrived and it was determined that the 16-year-old boy had entered the building with the intent of stealing. He was cited and released from the police station to his mother.
Grand Theft --Feb. 26, between 12:15 and 3:55 a.m. Someone stole two bicycles from the bed of a truck parked at a Via Lomita residence in Monte Sereno. Video surveillance tapes showed a red pickup truck in the area at the time, and a white male adult was seen walking across the front lawn of the residence at the same time.
Theft by Forgery --Feb. 26, between 12:06 and 11:42 a.m. A woman reported that she had her wallet stolen from her purse at a party on Twin Creeks Road in Monte Sereno. The wallet contained her driver's license, a gas credit card and $20 in cash. The card was used several times later that day for purchases at two gas stations in Los Gatos.
Robbery --Feb. 25, 8:05 p.m. A 26-year-old man was struck in the head with a fist when preparing to enter his vehicle in a parking garage on S. Santa Cruz Avenue. The assailant then stole the man's wallet, keys and cell phone before fleeing in a blue two-door Cadillac. The alleged robbers were described as two Latino men.
Auto Burglary --Feb. 24, between 7:10 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. A woman returned to her car parked in a University Avenue garage to find that the rear window had been broken and items were missing from the cargo area.
Theft --Between Feb. 23, 10:56 p.m., and Feb. 24, 10:08 a.m. A 400-pound, cast-iron fountain was stolen from outside of George Davis Interiors and Antiques on W. Main Street.
Theft --Between Feb. 17 and Feb. 24. Someone took a mailbox from a residence on Robin Anne Lane in Monte Sereno.
Forgery --Feb. 23, 5:20 p.m. A woman entered the Washington Mutual bank on Los Gatos Boulevard and used the name and false driver's license of a different woman and attempted to cash a check belonging to another. She was arrested at the scene on charges of false identification, burglary, identity theft and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
