Vandalism Over $400--On Sept. 11 at 12:10 a.m. on Ted Avenue and Leutar Court. The officer was dispatched to a report of a vehicle with a rock thrown through the window. The victim had been sitting in the car at the time and was hit in the arm. A juvenile was located who admitted to throwing the rock. The officer cited the juvenile for felony vandalism and released him to his parents.
Illegal Weapon--On Sept. 8 at 2:58 a.m. on Myren Drive and Casa Blanca Lane. The officer stopped a vehicle and with the consent of the passengers searched two bags in the bed of the truck. One of the persons had four Shuriken (throwing stars) in a backpack and another person had a butterfly knife in his pocket. The third person was in violation of Saratoga's city ordinance. The first two persons were booked into the main jail and the third was cited and released to his mother.
Burglary--Sometime between 7 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 8 on Devon Avenue and Paseo Presada. The victim was working on a residence under construction. The victim left a tile saw inside the house overnight. When the victim returned to continue work the next morning, the tile saw was gone. The victim estimated the value of the saw at approximately $900.
Trespassing--On Sept. 6 at 3:15 p.m. on Sousa Lane. The person had trespassed on the victim's property before. Numerous "No Trespassing" signs are posted around the area. The victim had the Santa Cruz Police Department conduct a civil standby for notice of no trespassing. The person parked his vehicle across the street and was found on the victim's property but remains at large.
Under the Influence--On Sept. 5 between 5 and 5:15 p.m. on Paseo Pueblo and Quito Road. A woman was stopped for speeding and not having a front plate on her vehicle. She spoke in an excited manner and had an uncontrollable twitching of her hands. The suspect had a pulse rate of 120 beats per minute, fluttery eyelids and rebound dilation and was in possession of a crystal-like substance, which tested positive for a controlled substance. She was arrested.
Theft by Credit Card--On Sept. 5 at 8 a.m. on Villanova Road. The victim was contacted by his credit card company about charges made to his card in Hong Kong. The victim had not made any such charges to his card. The charges totaled $1,025.72.
Forgery, Petty Theft--Sometime between midnight on Aug. 15 and 3 p.m. on Sept. 8 on Kristy Lane. A theft occurred when an unknown person stole checks belonging to another person. A forgery occurred when an unknown person forged the check owner's signature on at least 35 checks. The checks were written at various locations for various amounts totaling approximately $4,800.
