Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga celebrates its 75th anniversary with an open house on Oct. 15. Montalvo was built in 1912 by U.S. Sen. James Duval Phelan. Phelan lived in the Villa with his dog Boz, pictured here sometime in the 1920s, and loved to entertain and support the arts.

North Campus Child molestation Noise at night
A desire for public-use land has kept the future sale of the North Campus in limbo, despite fiscal strains on the city.  More Former Saratoga Elementary School teacher's aide Roger Phillip Lange, 41, was charged with 12 counts of child molestation last month after being arrested in Las Vegas, Nev.  More Noisy nights now could mean quieter days later for Saratogans who live near Highway 85.  More
