Sheriff's Report
Burglary, Battery--On Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. A person selected several items, put them in a shopping cart and left the store without paying. Loss prevention employees from a neighboring store detained the person. The person kicked one of the loss prevention employees in the groin. The loss to the store was $675.13. The person was booked into the main jail.

Burglary--Sometime between Oct. 8 at 6:25 p.m. and Oct. 9 at 8 a.m. on Arroyo De Arguello. An unknown person entered an open garage and took a purse from an unlocked vehicle. The purse contained $20 cash, prescription medication and four credit cards.

False Report of a Bomb--On Oct. 7 at 12:50 p.m. on Herriman Avenue. A school secretary received a telephone call in which an unknown caller said, "There is a bomb." The caller then hung up. The principal evacuated the school. Police officers and school staff conducted a walk-through of the campus. The principal then determined it was safe for the students to return to class.

Assault and Battery--On Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. on Oak Street. A person pushed a second person on the right shoulder. The person then spat in the second person's face. The second person had no complaint of pain and stated she did not need medical assistance.

Residential Burglary--Sometime between Aug. 1 at midnight and Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. on Kristy Lane. The victim left the residence unlocked so that a construction crew could use the bathroom. When packing for a trip, the victim noticed that a jewelry bag was missing. The victim believes one of the workers stole the bag because that worker had been caught with property belonging to a neighbor.
