The Performing Arts and Lecture Center at Saratoga High School will be ready for performances and shows in early December, according to school district officials.
"It's physically open for meetings. We're going to have an open house early in December," Bob Peterson, the chief business officer for the district, said.
Peterson said the two major components still to be completed are an acoustical shell and landscaping.
"The shell should be in place by mid-November," Peterson said. "We're dealing with a company in Wisconsin, so it's taking a little longer."
Still to be completed is the rigging—a contraption used on stage to lower and raise props.
In the last few years, the high school foundation raised close to $4.5 million in donations for the arts and lecture center from nearly 1,200 donors.
A bond measure passed in 1998 also ensured $3.1 million for the multi-purpose hall that seats 585 people.
In August of this year, Eric McAfee, a Saratoga resident, donated nearly $1 million so that the center could be completed.
