Sheriff's Report
Lost Property--On Dec. 4 at 11:34 p.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and Sea Gull Way. An officer contacted a person alongside the railroad tracks. The person gave consent to have his pockets searched. The officer found a credit card belonging to someone else. The person said he had found the card a day earlier and had not attempted to contact the owner. The officer booked the person into the main jail.

Grand Theft--On Dec. 3 between 1 and 6 p.m. on Craigen Circle. A person left his garage door open. His $1,800 bicycle was stolen from the garage.

Burglary--On Nov. 30 between 7:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Vineyard Lane. A person returned home from work to find that his house had been burglarized. Several expensive items were missing including a handgun. The point of entry was a broken living room window and the point of exit was the front door. Ten latent print cards were collected at the scene.

Controlled Substance--On Nov. 28 at 8 a.m. on Village Drive and Cox Avenue. An officer conducted a vehicle stop for an expired registration and determined that the driver was unlicensed. The officer searched the vehicle and found a pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine and three small plastic bags with a white crystal substance inside. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

Petty Theft--On Nov. 27 between 7 and 8 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. A person reported that while he was attending mass at the Sacred Heart Church someone had entered his unlocked car and taken his wife's handicap placard from the glove box.

Check Forgery--Sometime between 7 a.m. on Nov. 9 and 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 28 on Piedmont Road and Mendelsohn Drive. A person was expecting checks to arrive in the mail. He contacted the issuer of the checks and was told they had been mailed and some had been used. Forged signatures had been used to cash nine checks for a total of $3,891.54.

Check Forgery--Sometime between 8 a.m. on Nov. 2 and 5 p.m. on Nov. 22 on Saratoga Avenue. A person received her bank statement, which revealed numerous checks she did not write had been cashed amounting to $5,138.15.
