Wilmur M. McMillan

Wilmur M. McMillan, 88, died Nov. 12.

McMillan and his twin sister, Wilma, were born Oct. 16, 1917, to James and Olive McMillan in Howard, Kan. He married Georgana Whitney of Wichita in 1943.

In addition to serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II, McMillan graduated from Wichita University and joined IBM as an engineer. He worked on defense, business and control systems in Poughkeepsie and Kingston, N.Y.; Boca Raton, Fla.; and San Jose.

After retiring in 1975, he spent 30 years doing volunteer work, and was very active in the Saratoga Federated Church, the Pearl Harbor Survivors and the China Burma India Veterans Association. In 1988, Georgana died. He married Verna Lee Parish in 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Lee McMillan; daughter, Nancy Moore; sons, Jerry Moore and Jerry McMillan; brother, Edson McMillan; sister, Wilma Johnson; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Nov. 17 at the Saratoga Federated Church.

Charlotte Crabtree

Charlotte Crabtree, 85, a longtime resident of Saratoga, died Dec. 1 of a stroke.

Crabtree was born in Germany in 1920. When she emigrated, she took a job as a secretary in the math department at Stanford University, where she worked for 30 years. She was a resident of Saratoga for 50 years.

Her husband, George Crabtree, expressed appreciation to the Saratoga Adult Care Center for the "loving care and attention" she received there.

Crabtree is survived by her husband of 48 years, George Crabtree; son Knut Mohr of Germany; and one grandson and one great-grandson, also of Germany.

A private memorial was held.
