Reckless Driving--On Dec. 30 at 9:20 p.m. on Highway 9 and Via Colina. A driver approached a DUI checkpoint at a speed too high for conditions, disobeyed posted traffic signs and took out approximately 80 feet of traffic cones. Several deputies had to move rapidly to avoid being hit. Earlier, the driver was tailgating an unmarked police car, passing it at a high rate of speed, partially on the left shoulder. The driver was cited for reckless driving and released.
Vandalism--On Dec. 30 between 12:01 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Mt. Eden Road. An unknown person used a paintball gun to shoot the front of a residence 10 times with yellow paintballs. The resident was awakened during the night by what sounded like a car door slamming shut, but no vehicle was seen leaving the area.
Vandalism--On Dec. 29 between 9:50 p.m. and midnight on Herriman Avenue. An officer was flagged down by a person whose car had been keyed and egged. The word "Gay" was scratched onto the back trunk of the person's car. There was also a large dent in the car and the bumpers had been pushed down. The person estimated the damage at $3,000.
Vandalism--On Dec. 28 between 6:30 and 10 p.m. on Herriman Avenue. An unknown person keyed a vehicle leaving a scratch approximately 12 feet in length along the passenger side. The owner estimated the damage at $4,000.
Grand Theft--Sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 28 and 6 a.m. on Dec. 29 on Reid Lane. A person parked her unlocked vehicle on the street. When she returned the next morning, she found that a set of golf clubs had been taken from the vehicle. The value of the golf clubs was estimated at $800.
Burglary--Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 and 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 28 on Jaccaranda Court. An unknown person broke into a house and stole household appliances, jewelry and electronic equipment. The person also broke into the garage and stole a vehicle. The residents of the home were in Italy at the time and would provide a detailed list of stolen property when they returned home.
Burglary--On Dec. 25 between 2 and 6 p.m. on Comer Drive. A person returned home and found that three laptop computers, a checkbook and various computer items were missing. A rear sliding glass door was unlocked. One partial latent print was located on the sliding glass door.
Auto Burglary--Sometime between 8 a.m. on Dec. 19 and 12:19 a.m. on Dec. 31 on Thelma Avenue. An unknown person broke into a Mercedes-Benz 380SL and stole a DVD player and a radar detector.
