Sheriff's Report
Vandalism--On Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. on Big Basin Way. A person heard her car alarm go off in front of her home. She went outside and found the driver's side window of her vehicle broken. Numerous rocks were found next to the vehicle. No items were taken.

Marijuana--On Jan. 27 at 2:45 p.m. on Fruitvale Avenue. A 15-year-old student was in possession of 5.4 grams of marijuana on school grounds. A small plastic bag with marijuana and a glass pipe were found in the student's backpack. The student was cited and released. The student's mother was notified.

Methamphetamine--On Jan. 26 at 11:38 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue and Dagmar Avenue. An officer stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. The driver had a methamphetamine pipe and several small plastic bags containing methamphetamine in his pants pocket. The driver had no driver's license and was in possession of $771 in cash. He said he was transporting the drugs for sale.

Parenting Duty Violation--On Jan. 26 between 12:50 and 12:55 p.m. on Paseo Pueblo. A 2-year-old child was found unattended on Paseo Pueblo and Paseo Presada. The child's mother was located. She said the child had gotten out through an unsecured gate. This was the second occurrence in two days.

Tree Cut without a Permit--On Jan. 25 between 8:30 a.m. and 9:50 a.m. on McCoy Avenue. A tree was cut down without a permit. The job foreman was cited and the homeowner contacted by phone. The homeowner was unaware he needed a permit to cut down a storm-damaged tree.

Tire Theft--Sometime between 10 p.m. on Jan. 24 and 8 a.m. on Jan 25 at Via Alto Court. All four tires were taken from a vehicle. The value of the chrome rims and tires was estimated at $2,000.
