Sheriff's Report
Cruelty to a Child--On March 18 at noon on Farwell Avenue. A child's father yelled verbal threats at the child over a cell phone. The child was at a friend's house, and friends heard the threats. An investigation determined that there was a verbal exchange but no physical violence had occurred.

Forgery--On March 16 at 3:15 p.m. on Atrium Drive. A woman received a letter in the mail stating that she had won $330,000 in a sweepstakes. The person who sent the letter informed her that she had to pay insurance and transaction fees to collect the prize. After receiving and depositing two checks for $28,272 that were later determined to be fraudulent, the woman wired $27,619 to the person's bank account in New Zealand.

Battery on School Grounds--On March 16 between 12:45 and 1 p.m. on Prospect Road. Four students were fighting in the school gym lobby. One student pulled a second student down by the neck with a towel. Two other students punched and kicked the second student, who sustained minor injuries to his face.

Vandalism--On March 14 at 8 p.m. on Reid Lane. A person's son heard a noise at the window. The person went outside and checked the window and found a small hole in it. He thinks someone shooting a BB made the hole.
