Sheriff's Report

Street. A vehicle was stopped for not displaying license plates. The driver was unlicensed, in possession of a fraudulent driver's license and a controlled substance. The driver also had an outstanding warrant for $500.

Barking Dog--On July 1 at 9:21 p.m. on Somerville Drive. Someone reported a dog barks every evening starting at 8 p.m. The person has contacted the dog's owner twice, but the dog continues to bark.

Petty Theft--On June 30 between 12:01 and 10 a.m. on Aspesi Drive. A person took a gray box containing about 50 plastic electrical boxes from the bed of a parked pickup.

Controlled Substance--On June 30 at 2:27 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue and Highway 85. An officer pulled over a man and found methamphetamine in the vehicle. The officer determined he was under the influence of a stimulant and booked him into the main jail.

Battery--On June 30 at 10 p.m. on Allendale Avenue. A juvenile punched a person in the face, causing swelling and redness.

Tree Removal without a Permit--On June 29 between 11:20 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Springer Avenue. A person hired a landscaping company to cut down an olive tree. The owner did not know she needed a permit to cut down the tree. The landscaping company owner admitted he did not have a permit.

Drunk in Public--On June 29 at 12:05 a.m. on Big Basin Way and Saratoga-Los Gatos Road. An officer saw an intoxicated male sitting on a park bench. The male was unable to care for himself and was booked into the main jail.

Theft--On June 13 at 3 p.m. on McDole Street. Someone entered a residence and stole a cell phone valued at $160.

Grand Theft--On May 14 between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Vineyard Lane. A woman hired two men from a classified ad on craigslist.org to help her move. The men unloaded her boxes at her residence and then left the scene. The woman noticed that five boxes were missing.
