Sheriff's Report

Credit card fraud, identity theft--Sometime between May 30 and June 11 on Debbie Lane. Someone noticed three charges totaling $1,070.59 that he did not make on his credit card. The credit card company has closed the account and is investigating the charges.

Battery, vandalism--On July 6 at 6:30 p.m. on Big Basin Way at Fourth Street. A man and a woman were fighting at Big Basin Way. One of them was intoxicated and assaulted two people, one of whom was in a prior dating relationship with the person who was intoxicated. The person who assaulted the two people also dented a car and ripped the wipers off another car. The intoxicated person was arrested and booked into county jail.

Suspicious phone call--On July 7 at 8:42 a.m. on Manteca Drive. Someone called and left a message on a woman's home answering machine. The message was not threatening, and it did not contain any obscene language. However, the woman was concerned because she is the opposing counsel in a family court matter involving the caller. The woman's home information is not listed, and the caller should not be calling her at home.

Under the influence--On July 7 at 5:35 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue at Bucknall Road. An officer stopped a driver for having an unregistered vehicle. The officer noticed the driver was nervous, and her eyelids were fluttering. The officer found a hypodermic needle and booked the driver in county jail.

Vehicle theft--On July 7 between 9 and 11 p.m. on Third Street at Big Basin Way. Someone drove or took another person's car from a parking lot.

Under the influence--On July 8 at 3:31 a.m. on Quito Road at Maude Avenue. A driver gave an officer a false name when the officer stopped her car. She displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. She had many hypodermic needles and said she used them for heroin and methamphetamines. Her driver's license was suspended.

Drunk in public--On July 8 at 11:10 p.m. on Bonnie Brae Drive. A woman was found hiding in bushes when she was supposed to be driven to a mental hospital. The woman did not have any socks or shoes on, and her breasts were exposed. She had a strong odor of alcohol and was unsteady on her feet. She was arrested and booked into county jail.
