Sheriff's Report

Removal of recycling--On July 25 at 1:15 a.m. on Oahu Lane at Wendy Lane. A person was seen and reported taking recycling from the bins at the end of residential driveways. The person was cited and released.

Vehicle vandalism--On July 25 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Fruitvale Avenue. The side mirror of a vehicle was broken and the side of the vehicle keyed. The owner estimated the damage at $1,000.

Petty theft--On July 25 at 5:25 p.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. A juvenile entered a Safeway store and placed four items into her purse. She was stopped by security as she walked out of the store. She was cited and released to her mother.

Identity theft--On July 25 at 4 p.m. on Cabernet Drive. A woman received a letter from a collection agency stating she owed $1,038 to Cingular Wireless for an account opened in Pasadena in 2005. The woman has no knowledge of the account and does not know how her information was obtained.

Grand theft--On July 28 at 2:30 p.m. on Bountiful Acres Drive. A person doing yard work at a residence left a lawn mower and blower in a trailer on the property and secured the trailer with a padlock and chain. An unknown person cut the chain and removed the items.

Burglary, vehicle--On July 26 at 6 a.m. on Ritanna Court. A car alarm went off, and when the owner looked outside to check on her car, she noticed a red American-style car next to hers. The woman did not report it at the time, but when she later left for work she noticed a leather bag missing from her front passenger seat.

Harassing phone calls--On July 26 at 6 p.m. on Miller Avenue. A woman reported that she had received five phone calls from her son demanding money for college. The son swore at her and called her names. The mother is requesting the son be prosecuted. The c ase has been handed over to the district attorney's office.
