Sheriff's Report
Assault with a deadly weapon--On Sept. 16 at 10:30 p.m. on Big Basin Way and Third Street. A man hit a woman over the head with a glass mug during Celebrate Saratoga. The woman had a 2- to 3-inch bruise on her forehead. The man fled the scene and was later arrested at his home and booked into the main jail.
Petty theft--From Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. to Sept. 4 at 9 p.m. on Knollwood Drive. An unknown person took approximately 20 pieces of mail from a residential mailbox.
Drunk in public--On Sept. 12 at 5:12 p.m. on Paseo Presada. An officer observed a person who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The person had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was staggering. The person was transported and booked into the main jail.
Possession of a weapon--On Sept. 12 at 10:10 a.m. on Prospect Road. An officer responded to a call of a student with a knife on school grounds. The student claimed he found the knife in front of the school and placed it in his pocket. The student was sent to the dean's office because he was wearing inappropriate clothing and the knife was discovered. The student was cited for possession of a weapon on school grounds.
