Thanks to Boy Scouts
for e-waste recycling

I would like to thank the Boy Scout Troop 535 for their e-waste recycling program at the North Campus on Jan. 6.

We all have old computers, computer screens and other electronic equipment that no one wanted or a place to take it. The Scouts had signs on Prospect directing the cars into the parking lot and Scouts to unload my car. It was very well organized and took me less than 10 minutes max.

The effort gives money to the Scouts, plus the hazardous waste is taken care of and kept out of the landfill.

Great job Scouts; let's do that again.

Board member is not
aware of complaints

I have been a member of the Saratoga Senior Center for 15 years. As a member I am on the board of directors and also chairwoman of the health committee. Obviously, I confer with Genie Dee in many meetings and private conferences.

The article on Ms. Dee which appeared in the Saratoga News ("Executive director center of senior controversy," Jan. 31) is rather damaging. I find her to be very professional, a wonderful fundraiser for the center and a tireless employee.

I have no knowledge of her causing so much ill feeling. I have never seen her fly off the handle and abuse the volunteers. According to one volunteer, "She has demoralized the place." If members of the board have received complaints of this demoralization, I am unaware of them.
