Put on your very best bonnet and join the Saratoga Easter parade
By Shannon Burkey
Just when you thought big fancy hats were no longer in style, think again. It's time to dust off your favorite hat and head to the Saratoga Village Development Council's annual Easter celebration and Easter hat judging contest. It's in the Village on April 7 from 3 to 5 p.m.
This year's celebration will include an Easter egg hunt for the kids with plastic eggs filled with candy hidden up and down the sidewalks of Big Basin Way. The hunt will take place from 3 to 3:30 p.m. for children up to 4 years old. From 3:30 to 5 p.m., children 5 and up can participate.
In addition to the egg hunt, there will be storytelling on the Echo Shop lawn, and live music will be playing throughout the day's activities.
The hat contest will take place on the Echo Shop lawn at 4 p.m. The categories are grandest hat, funniest hat, most beautiful hat and theme hat. Prizes will be given to the winners.
To wrap up the festivities, the Easter Bunny will lead a hat parade down Big Basin Way, and everyone is invited to put on their favorite hat and join in the fun.
