43-year-old woman found dead in her car in Saratoga

A woman was found dead in a car at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 in the back parking lot of the Gatehouse Condominiums complex on Fourth Street in Saratoga.

The coroner's office has identified the woman as 43-year-old Tammy Fourtner, but has not released the cause of death since the investigation is still ongoing. Administrator Jesse Montano said the office has not identified Fourtner's city of residence and that the investigation could take up to 10 weeks. Until the case is closed, additional information can be released only to the next of kin.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department found two cats in the car with Fourtner and turned them over to animal control. Capt. Terry Calderone said the cats did not appear to have anything to do with the cause of death.

"There is nothing else we can provide at this point other than it did not appear to be anything unusual or associated with violence," he said.
