Miss Puddin' Tane is Oct. 29th calendar girl

Miss Puddin' Tane's the name, and her rise to fame has proclaimed her the pride of the Rodenberg clan.
Saratoga resident Sharlene Rodenberg's soon-to-be 2-year-old cockapoo was selected as the Oct. 29 puppy for The 365 Puppies-A-Year Calendar for 2008.
In October, Workman Publishing notified Rodenberg about the appearance in the calendar, which features puppies from all over the world, representing each of the 365 days of the year. Rodenberg said her puppy is one of only five from the Bay Area and the only one representing Saratoga.
The name Miss Puddin' Tane stems from an old rhyme Rodenberg's mother used to tell her, giving Rodenberg a clever response when asked for her dog's name.
"I tell them, 'It's Miss Puddin' Tane, ask me again and I'll tell you the same,' " she said.
After the family's wheaten terrier died, Rodenberg adopted Miss Puddin' Tane as an 8-week-old from a kennel in Brentwood.
"We said we would never get a dog again, but we missed having a dog around the house," she said.
Now Miss Puddin' Tane runs around the yard chasing leaves and birds, lounges in the pool, and for some reason, stares at inanimate objects, Rodenberg said. She also plays the part of the feline around the house.
"She's like a cat. She sneaks up on squirrels in slow motion from the longest distances and then pounces," Rodenberg said. "She has a little identity crisis going on."
With a second birthday coming up on Dec. 15, Miss Puddin' Tane has a bright future ahead of her, Rodenberg said. Still young, energetic and cute as ever, Miss Puddin' Tane may be poised for a career in Hollywood.
"This might be the beginning of a long career for her," she said. "People always give her compliments on how cute she is, so who knows?"
