Sunnyvale leagues holding Little League signups

It's the new year, and time for football bowl games, basketball from the high school to professional levels, and ... baseball?

That's right. Local youth baseball leagues are currently holding registration for the upcoming baseball season.

Players ages 5-12 are eligible for the Little League season, with divisions ranging from T-ball (for those youngsters who reach age 5 by July 31) to the major division (for those players not older than 12).

Leagues in Cupertino and Sunnyvale also offer upper division age groups including the junior division (13-14), senior division (15-16) and Big League (17-18). Girls softball is also offered by leagues in Cupertino and Sunnyvale.

At registrations, players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, provide a birth certificate and reside within league boundaries. Proof of residency may be required.
