Secret Santas
Fifteen special education students from Homestead High School shared profits from their on-campus Ice Cream Shoppe to help less fortunate students for the holidays. The students, separated into "secret Santa" teams, were given $35 to shop for a needy boy from Trinity Children and Family Services, a residential treatment home in Sacramento for abused children. The teams had 45 minutes to test their buying and budgeting skills at Vallco Fashion Park in Cupertino. The Ice Cream Shoppe opened in January, in an effort to provide special education students with practical skills.
