Senior Notes
Good Samaritan Hospital welcomes its Senior Friends
Good Samaritan Hospital, at 2425 Samaritan Drive at the San Jose/Los Gatos border, encourages all interested local senior citizens in the West Valley area to join its chapter of the National Association of Senior Friends, a nonprofit hospital-based health and wellness program open to anyone 50 and older.
* Senior Friends Travel Faire. On Jan. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., members and prospective members are invited to learn about all of the trips and tours happening throughout 2001. These include "Right Church Right Pew" in January, "Sweet Treat Tour" in February and a Sausalito outing in March.
* Seniors in Stride. These ongoing exercise classes take place in the hospital's Cardiac Rehabilitation Center and are paced with the needs of active senior citizens in mind. Each 45-minute supervised class combines gentle aerobic activities with strengthening exercises. Classes are offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.; Mondays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.; or Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. For more information, call 408.559.2011, ext. 4650.
