District 44 Signups
Signups will be held in January for youngsters interested in participating in the programs offered by the District 44 Little League in this area.
Local leagues holding signups include:
Sunnyvale Metro Little League-- Signups will be held at Raynor Park Recreation Building, 1565 Quail Ave., on Jan. 11, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; at Ortega Park Recreation Building, 656 Harrow Way, on Jan. 14, 6-9 p.m., and Jan. 18, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; and at Ponderosa Park Recreation Building, 811 Henderson Ave., on Jan. 16, 6-9 p.m. For more information, call Jim Smith, 243-KIDS.
Sunnyvale National Little League-- Signups for players ages 5-18 will be held Jan. 8, 15 and 22, 6-8 p.m. each day, at Washington Park, and Jan. 11 and 18, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at Fairoaks Rec Center. Call Robert Rodrigues, 732-5021.
Sunnyvale Serra Little League-- Signups for players ages 5-18 will be held Jan. 11, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Jan. 12, noon-4 p.m., and Jan. 15, 6-9 p.m., at Serra Park Rec Building, 730 The Dalles. For more information, call 345-9800.
Sunnyvale Southern Little League-- Signups will be held each Saturday, Jan. 11-25, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Las Palmas Park Rec Building, 858 Russett Drive. For more information, call Walter and Sheri Lee, 739-6065.
Boat Show returns
The San Francisco Sports & Boat Show returns to the Cow Palace in Daly City for the 55th year when the annual event opens Jan. 17 for its 10-day run.
The admission prices are $7 for adults and $3 for children, with senior citizens admitted for half price on weekdays. Over 200,000 outdoor sports enthusiasts are expected to the attend the show that will run Jan. 17-26.
