Nova Vista Symphony Orchestra Performance
The Nova Vista Symphony Orchestra presents its Jan. 13 concert featuring the First Symphony of Russian composer Vassili Kalinnikov as the major orchestral work in the performance. Also featured will be soloist John Erik Wennberg and a performance of Verdi's "Overture to La forza del destino." The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in the Smithwick Theater at Foothill College, 12345 El Monte Ave, Los Altos Hills. Tickets are $12, $10 for seniors and $5 for students at the door. The Nova Vista Symphony is partially sponsored by the Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation and the Arts Council of Santa Clara County. For more information, call 408.245.3116.
'Copacabana'
The American Musical Theatre of San Jose presents Copacabana on Jan. 17. Sponsored by the city of Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation Department, participants will depart from the Sunnyvale senior center at 1:15 p.m. and return at 6:45 p.m. The performance will be followed by dinner at the San Jose Hilton Towers.
