    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department

    Arson--Jan. 1, 5:35 a.m., 600 block E. El Camino Real. Unknown suspect(s) used an unknown ignition source to willfully and maliciously set fire to a wooden fence and combustible landscaping, located along the north middle property between local restaurant and auto repair shop. No building structure was damaged and loss was limited to automotive parts, equipment and combustible landscaping.

    Robbery--Dec. 31, 10:54 p.m., 600 block E. Evelyn Avenue. Suspect entered local liquor store and held up the clerk at gunpoint demanding money out of the register and safe. Once the money was turned over, the suspect pushed the clerk into a rear storage room and fled in an unknown direction with approximately $260.

    Commercial Grand Theft--Dec. 26, 8:03 a.m., 300 block N. Pastoria Avenue. Suspect entered local processing plant and took approximately $9,000 in raw materials (aluminum and titanium). Suspect has not been identified.

    Resisting Executive Officers--Dec. 26, 2:17 a.m., 700 All America Way. Suspect violently resisted and threatened executive officers. Throughout the lawful arrest and transport, the suspect was combative and violently resisting and threatening. He was subsequently transported and booked into county jail. One officer suffered lacerations and another suffered vision impairment.

    Grand Theft--Dec. 24, 7:07 a.m., 1100 block Mountain View-Alviso Road. As the victim arrived at work, he observed two males removing parts from his car, which was parked behind his business. The suspects fled the area with $475 in parts, including tires, rims, lights and front grill.

    Trespassing--Dec. 24, 1:15 a.m., 700 block E. El Camino Real. Suspect was discovered inside Safeway passed out drunk. She has been advised in the past that she can't enter any Safeway due to theft and alcohol-related incidents.
