Public Safety
The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Under the Influence--Dec. 17, 7:00 p.m., 600 block of East Weddell Drive. An officer was dispatched to check a report of a suspicion person, loitering near homes. Upon arrival, the suspect was found to be the only person in the area who fit the description given by the caller. During questioning, the suspect appeared to be under the influence. After a search it was found he had a glass pipe, used for crack cocaine, and another pipe with marijuana residue.
Petty Theft--Dec. 16, 3:45 p.m., 1000 block of East Arques Avenue. A security officer observed the suspect select merchandise inside the store and then conceal it on her person. She then walked outside the store without paying for the goods. She was taken to the store's security office and placed under arrest.
